GENEROUS theatre-goers have donated thousands of pounds from performances of Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs at the Sands Centre.

The venue, based just off Hardwick Circus in Carlisle, revealed the amount of money raised through bucket collections at last month's pantomime.

A spokesman said: "We're delighted to have raised £5,137.00 between fantastic local charities - CFM Cash for Kids and Carlisle Foodbank during collections at Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.

"We're always amazed by the generosity of The Sands customers over Christmas, and we thank you massively for helping us to raise a fantastic amount."

The show, which starred Carlisle singer Matt Pagan, ran throughout December.
