Workington MP Mark Jenkinson has highlighted key issues for the area when he met Northern Powerhouse Minister Jake Berry MP in Westminster.
Mr Jenkinson discussed improvements to infrastructure and encouraging skills and training opportunities along with measures to improve the local economy.
He said: "I want to see the towns and communities in my constituency thrive. That is why I welcomed the meeting with Jake Berry MP to discuss areas that would benefit from investment which would improve our local economy and make the daily lives of my constituents better.
"I used the meeting to impress upon Government that improved infrastructure and a wider range of jobs and training opportunities on our doorstep would ensure that we build a skilled workforce and attract good businesses to our region which, in turn, would strengthen our local economy."
