Diversions are set to be in place while a road is patched up in Pica next week.
From Monday the C4006 at Pica will be closed for up to three weeks at its junction with the U4004, heading north east for about 2.8km.
Cumbria Highways are carrying out patching works but a spokesman said alternatives routes are in place.
The statement read: "A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
"And a suitable alternative route for vehicles will be signed and available via the unrestricted section of the C4006, C2054 (Distington), B5306 and U4004 (Common End).
