TRAIN services are at a stand on the west coast mainline after a lorry became wedged under a bridge in Carlisle.
The lorry remains trapped under a railway bridge on Crown Street, off Botchergate in the city.
Services with Avanti West Coast, TransPennine Express and Northern have been delayed or cancelled.
National Rail have said disruption is expected until 3pm.
A spokesman from Cumbria County Council said: "A lorry is stuck underneath the railway bridge.
"Police and highways teams on scene - please avoid the area until further notice, there is some congestion already."
