A hotel near Bassenthwaite Lake has gone on the market for £3.25 million.

The Castle Inn Hotel is being sold by Savills on behalf of a private client.

The Castle Inn has a bar, restaurant, leisure club with gym and indoor swimming pool, 45 en suite guest bedrooms plus three bedrooms currently used by the owners as offices.

It has the opportunity for the new owners to acquire the freehold interest.

Tom Cunningham, director at Savills Manchester, said: “Opportunities to acquire freehold assets in the Lake District don’t come about very often, so we’re delighted to be bringing The Castle Inn Hotel to market on behalf of our client.

"Set in an iconic location, with well-presented amenities, we’re expecting strong interest in this property.”
