A man has been charged with dangerous driving and wounding with intent following a crash in Carlisle.
Daniel English, 30, of Stonegarth, Carlisle had been remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at Carlisle's magistrates’ court today.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "He is charged with the following offences: Section 18 wounding with intent; being the driver of a vehicle which failed to stop; and dangerous driving.
"The charges are in connection with a collision that occurred on Monday afternoon on the city’s Ullswater Road."
Police have also charged Claire Porter, 32, of Greta Avenue, Carlisle, was charged with assisting an offender. She will appear at the magistrates’ court on Tuesday, February 4.
A pedestrian who was injured in the collision, a 46-year-old man from Carlisle, remains in a critical but stable condition at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.
