TRIBUTE to Black Sabbath, Sabbra Cadabra are coming to Workington for an anniversary gig.

Just as Ozzy Osbourne and his rockers did in 1969, Sabbra Cadabra are making the trip to Workington for a 50th anniversary charity event. And it feels special for the band given the history of Black Sabbath in the early years.

Neil Priddey, lead guitarist and manager for Sabbra Cadabra said: "They established themselves in that part of the north. It is probably more of a spiritual home than Birmingham."

The tribute band will headline a charity night of entertainment at Workington Railway Club on Saturday January 25.

Workington band Hammerhead will serve as support.

Profits from the show are being donated to The Mayor's Charities which are currently Young Cumbria and Young Carers, tickets are £20 per person.

Sabra Cadabra, billed as: "The UK's number one tribute to Black Sabbath" have recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of the band with a performance on an island in Birmingham's canal. The event named a bridge and unveiled a commemorative bench in the iconic band's honour. Sabra Cadabra were invited by Black Sabbath's original manager, Jim Simpson.
