EFFORTS continue to find a missing Carlisle woman who has not been seen for more than two weeks.
Janet McElrone, 51, from Etterby, was last seen on December 23. She is described as white with shoulder-length blonde hair, 5ft 3ins tall and of medium build. She speaks with a Canadian accent.
Police say it was it is known she went to Morrisons in Carlisle at about 1pm on December 23.
She had previously left her address on foot.
Despite extensive searches by the emergency services, she has not been found.
Inspector Jonathan Oliphant said: “I would urge anyone with any information regarding Janet’s whereabouts, no matter how small, to contact police.
“Enquires are ongoing, and we have been assisted by Cumbria Fire and Rescue, the Coastguard as well as National Police Air Service during extensive searches.
“If anyone does have any information about Janet’s whereabouts we would ask them to contact us.”
