ROAD: The A591 near Dodd Wood by Bassenthwaite in the Lake District
THE A591 has reopened in both directions after a dangerous tree was felled.
A stretch of the Lake District road from Bothel to Sedgwick was shut on Monday afternoon between Dodd Wood and Millbeck after safety concerns were raised.
Drivers were forced to make a lengthy diversion while work was carried out to remove the tree.
Cumbria County Council confirmed the road had reopened at 2.30pm.
