A NEW fund to support organisations in Cockermouth is due to be launched this year.
Metalcraft, a company manufacturing products for the nuclear, medical and energy industry, is launching the Metalcraft Cockermouth Community Fund.
Not-for-profit organisations are invited to an event at the Town Hall on February 4 at 6.30pm to find out more about support available.
A company spokesman said: "Metalcraft have a proud tradition of providing financial support to local organisations to our facility in Chatteris and are now looking to extend this to the town of Cockermouth.
"Metalcraft hope this fund will help to ensure a diverse range of organisations can continue to operate and grow within the Cockermouth community."
To be eligible to apply for funding from the Metalcraft Community Fund organisations must be based in the Cockermouth parish, be not-for-profit and operating for the benefit of the Cockermouth community.
A maximum of two representatives per organisation can attend the event.
For more information and to attend the event, contact Sheila Brown at Cockermouth Town Council by emailing clerk@cockermouth.org.
