AN ASPATRIA woman who has launched a campaign to fight what she says is injustice in family courts is gaining momentum nationally.

Victoria Hudson, 43, launched the #getmhome campaign after a “member of our family was removed by Cumbria Children’s Services”.

The team behind the campaign have recently received a message of support from Spice Girl member, Mel B.

Victoria explained: “We’re hoping that Mel B will speak out and back the campaign.

“It’s brilliant to see all of these people getting behind us and supporting us. I’ve been blown away by support.”

A spokesman for Cumbria County Council said: “To protect children’s privacy we do not comment on individual cases.

“However, in all cases recommendations made by the council to safeguard children are subject to the scrutiny and final determination of the Family Court.” The child(ren)’s best interests are independently represented in court by the Children and Family Court Advisory and Support Service (CAFCASS). Independent Reviewing Officers also provide scrutiny to ensure plans are appropriate and in the child(ren)’s welfare.”
