There will be a great mix of festive music, humour, carols and entertainment at this year’s Rotary Club of Keswick’s Christmas charity concert.

The event, which takes place at Theatre By The Lake on December 15, raises money for Keswick and District Scouts and Guides groups and features special guests the St Herbert’s Primary School Choir, conducted by headteacher Shelagh Hughes, who has been an essential part of the show for eight years.

Professional singers Graeme Danby and Valerie Reid will present a selection of ballads and amusing traditional songs, in addition to artists such as Flanders and Swann and Tom Lehrer.

Award-winning NASUWT Riverside Band from Chester-Le-Street will also be playing music from brass band pieces to big band numbers. They have been finalists for several years in the UK Brass Band National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall.

The concert will end with a rousing Last Night of the Proms finale. Tickets are available from theatre box office 017687 74411 or online at wwwtheatrebythelake.com
