General picture of the A66 at Stainmore between Bowes and Brough
A stretch of the A66 is blocked due to an overturned lorry.
The westbound carriageway between Bowes and Stainmore is closed and traffic is stationary.
This was reported to police shortly before 12.30pm.
The A66 is also closed in both directions to high-sided vehicles between the A6 near Penrith and Bowes due to strong winds.
