A TWENTY-nine-year-old Penrith man must complete 90 hours’ unpaid work after he admitted assaulting a woman.
Simon Wright, of Foster Street, Penrith, committed the offence on the A66 near to Appleby on June 1, Carlisle’s magistrates’ court heard.
He was given a 12 month community order.
Magistrates also imposed a restraining order, preventing Wright from contacting the victim until December of next year. He must also pay her £100 compensation, £500 costs, and a £85 victim surcharge.
