A Cockermouth bistro is continuing its tradition of holding Christmas dinner for the community and everybody is welcome.

This is the fifth year running that Wild Zucchinis has offered people the chance to come and enjoy a meal and some company on Christmas day.

Owner of the restaurant, Manon Plouffe, said: "The idea is to ensure that everybody gets to enjoy a family Christmas whatever their circumstances. Anybody can come along, either on their own or with a group, though larger groups should book in advance."

Manon and her team, all of who give up their time for free, will be working together to bring Christmas cheer and good food to all who need it.

This year they will be raising money for the Calvert Trust which enables people with disabilities to take part in outdoor activities.

It is completely free but donations from those that can should be made in advance or on the day.

Manon went on to say: "In traditional Wild Zucchinis style, expect the unexpected and gather together to make new friends and share Christmas with those in your community that you may never have met."

In previous years the team has also helped with transport arrangements for those who need it and has even delivered Christmas dinner to the doorstep of those unable to leave the house.

Christmas dinner will be served between 12pm and 6pm with all dietary needs catered for.
