A BANNED driver from Penrith has been jailed after police traced him with the help of the public.
Ricky Murphy, 23, was jailed for six months.
At Carlisle's Rickergate Magistrates Court, he admitted three charges of driving while disqualified and one of failing to provide a blood sample for analysis.
The court heard how the defendant, of Carleton Road, Penrith was detained by officers in Carlisle after an appeal last month.
As well as the jail term, magistrates imposed a further 18 month driving ban on the defendant.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: "Officers would like to thank members of the public for their response to the wanted appeal issued last month."
