A 22-year-old man who engaged in a course of conduct which was abusive to his partner, has been made the subject of a community payback order by Sheriff David Hall at Dumfries.
Liam Hiddleston, of Guysgill, Annan, was ordered to carry out 160 hours unpaid work and was also made the subject of a non-harassment order for a year.
He had been found guilty of committing the offence at Kirkpatrick Fleming between April and June by repeatedly shouting and swearing at her, using abusive language towards her, following her around, controlling her finances, restraining her interactions with friends and family and monitoring and controlling her use of social media.
In addition he admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner towards her in July and throwing a glass to the floor and smashing it.
It was stated that the relationship was now over.
