A CARLISLE man accused of attacking his brother with a knife is to stand trial early next year.

Lee Robert Kidd, 40, faces one charge arising out of an incident which is said to have occurred in the city on October 23.

When he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court, Kidd pleaded not guilty to unlawfully and maliciously wounding Callum Kidd with intent to do him grievous bodily harm.

During a short hearing in front of Judge Nicholas Barker on Friday, a timetable for the progression of the case was set by the prosecution.

Kidd, of Coney Street, Carlisle, is now due to go on trial in front of a jury at the crown court.

This hearing is set to start on February 3 next year.

In the meantime, Kidd was remanded in custody by Judge Barker.
