Four staff members at the Workington-based TSP Engineering have been named in the Manufacturer Top 100 for 2019.

The list names the most dynamic leaders and innovators in the sector, and is published by the industry publication annually.

This year marks the sixth year of the prestigious national awards, recognising the heroes of UK manufacturing and those who stand out for their contribution to changing the face of industry and making an impact.

Project manager Ben Carter, welding engineer Glen Weightman, quantity surveyor Sam Beattie and project engineer Georgina Stalker were revealed as making the hotly-contested list.

Georgina was also named as one of the top 20 exemplary figures in the industry, selected by judges as doing their utmost to innovate and move the sector forward.

Georgina said: “I am so shocked, humbled and honoured to be named not only in the Top 100,

but the Top 20 Exemplars within.

"I thoroughly enjoy my job and everyone I come into contact with

daily, so it really is fantastic to be noticed and appreciated for the hard work that is put in every day."

John Coughlan, chief executive of TSP Engineering and who also recently picked up the in-Cumbria Business Awards 2019 Businessperson of the Year accolade, said: “We are tremendously proud and delighted that four of our team have been recognised in the Top 100 this year.

"Once again, this evidences the calibre of the TSP team. In the past few years, TSP Engineering has had six people named in The Manufacturer Top 100, with two of those being exemplars.

"This is underlining the capability of TSP Engineering."

TSP Engineering is based at Derwent Howe and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of British Steel. It operates as a standalone company.

Ben, Glen, Georgina and Sam attended the annual celebration in Liverpool recently for the Top 100 list, where they received their awards and networked with other successful applicants and manufacturing leaders.
