Whitehaven Male Voice Choir will be playing several concerts over the festive season, in addition to two performances for local care homes.

The choir will be singing at Parton Village Hall on December 1 at 5pm; St James Church, Whitehaven with a light up a life service for Hospice at Home on December 8, at 3pm and will do a Christmas concert at Whitehaven's Civic Hall on December 15 at 7.30pm.

They will be carol singing at Morrison's, Whitehaven, on December 19, at 10am; Dunmail Park, Workington, on December 20, at 11am and at Tesco, Whitehaven on December 21 at 10am.

The choir has performed for residents of Richmond Park Care Home, Workington, and plan to entertain at The Gables care home, Hensingham, at 7pm on November 22.

The choir is keen to recruit new members and any adult male members of the community who enjoy singing are welcome.

Members of the choir meet at St Gregory and St Patrick’s Chapel, Quay Street, Whitehaven, every Thursday at 7.30 pm for practices and rehearsals.

Performances are provided free of charge to community groups, any donations given go to the choir’s nominated local charities.

This year the choir is supporting the West Cumberland Hospital Yewdale Ward Mental Health Unit, the West Cumberland Hospital Stroke Unit and the Take Care Mental Health Carers Group.
