A BOUTIQUE children’s clothing business is expanding its operation to the high street in Carlisle.
Best Dressed Kidz was founded nine years ago by Greer Blackadder, in Dumfries.
Greer is opening a second store on Carlisle’s English Street tomorrow. Saturday
She said she was initially inspired to start the business after struggling to find good quality clothes for her own children.
Greer set about looking for brands with high quality fabrics, age appropriate designs and well-made garments, which she then started selling to other parents.
Best Dressed Kidz quickly outgrew its initial home in Dumfries’ Vennel and quickly moved into a three storey building in the town’s Bank Street.
“Our customer is our main focus,” said Greer.
“Our passionate, fully trained staff have first class product knowledge and delight in giving the best one to one service.
“I have taken a massive leap in opening my second UK store and I am excited to get to know our Cumbrian customers.”
An official opening event for the new venture is taking place on Saturday afternoon, with customers invited to go and take a first look around the shop.
The store will stock clothes for children from newborns to 12 years old, including British brands as well as those from Spain and Sweden.
Greer said the business put a strong emphasis on using sustainable and ethical products, including toys and games as well as clothing.
She said she also plans to launch a footwear department for the business in the spring, which will include a specialty children’s fitting service.
