The owners of Carlisle’s McVitie’s operation have appointed a new chief supply chain officer.

Mario Reis takes on a role that will see him head up the global supply chain operations at snacking group pladis.

Mr Reis has more than 30 years of international supply chain, procurement and management consulting experience.

He joins from multinational beauty company, COTY, where he was chief global supply chain officer, and has previously worked for consumer good giants including Danone and Mars.

Mr Reis said he was “delighted” to be joining pladis.

“I have long admired the company for its portfolio of cherished brands, its strong position in global snacking, its presence across so many geographies, and I look forward to working with the team and its partners to continue to drive pladis success,” he added.

Plaid chief executive Salman Amin, welcomed Mr Reis’s appointment.

“His vast experience leading the end-to-end Supply Chain in large, global businesses means he will be a great asset to our team as we build on our excellence across our markets,” he added.

Carlisle’s McVitie’s factory produces several popular brands including Carr's table water biscuits and McVitie's digestives.
