Kenneth, from Groombridge, near Tunbridge Wells, passed away on Thursday, August 15.
He was a much-loved husband, father and grandfather. Born in Carlisle in December 1934, to father Arthur and mother Margaret. It was there he met his wife Joan, whom he was married for 60 years.
As part of his national service RAF training, Kenneth flew T33 Shooting Star fighters in Canada.
He began his career as a journalist sub-editing at The Cumberland News then quickly rose to edit a Saturday national tabloid called Reveille as one of Fleet Street’s youngest ever editors in the 1960s and 70s.
Ken is also survived by children Christopher, Jenny and Richard and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Friday, September 6 at the Kent and Sussex crematorium, Tunbridge Wells.
