Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team faced two emergency calls in a single morning.
On Sunday, the all-volunteer rescue team was alerted to a missing person on Scafell Pike at just 3.05.
Ten members were scrambled by the police, followed by a full team callout as it became clear the casualty could not be guided down to a main route over the phone.
A spokesman for the mountain rescue team said: “The casualty was located and escorted down in daylight by the team.”
Then, at 10.55, the team were called upon by the ambulance service.
This time it was to help a mountain biker with a serious leg injury near the Cold Fell road.
A spokesman explained: “The team assisted with casualty care and then stretchered them to the waiting air ambulance.”
