ARREST: The late-night police pursuit took place along the M6 from Carlisle and over the border into Scotland
A MAN has been arrested after a late-night police pursuit of a stolen car on the M6 near Carlisle.
Officers took chase after the vehicle was spotted on the northbound carriageway heading into Scotland at about 1am on October 14.
A spokesman from Cumbria Police said: "John Cook, 40, of Pretoria Road, Eastiggs has been charged with dangerous driving, having no insurance, failing to stop and driving other than in accordance with a license.
"He is due to appear at Carlisle Magistrates court on November 5."
