Accused: Frederick Arthur Bartlett, 91, from Kirkby Stephen, faces seven charges
A NINETY-one-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting two girls.
Frederick Arthur Bartlett, of High Weasdale, Kirkby Stephen, was due to appear before magistrates at Carlisle's Rickergate Court today.
Prosecutors say the offences were committed on dates between October 1976 and October 2014.
The defendant, who was not in court for today's hearing, is alleged to have committed three indecent assaults, and four sexual assaults.
Six of those offences are alleged to have been against two girls, while the seventh alleged offence – an indecent assault - is said to have been against a woman.
Bartlett has yet to enter a plea to any of the allegations.
