Emergency service called to rescue woman in the river
Emergency services were called to action after a woman was found in the River Eden.
It happened just before 1am this morning (Sunday, October 13) near the Sands Centre.
Three fire engines were called along with police and ambulance.
A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival crews worked with partner agencies to ensure the welfare of the person and handed them into the care of NWAS."
