LOCALISED flooding caused by heavy rain caused considerable disruption across the county with a number of roads closed or impassable and schools being forced to close.
The following roads are still affected today:
- Flooding on B5301 both ways from Aspatria Train Station (Aspatria) to Wardhall turn off (Arkleby). Approach with care.
- Earlier flooding and impassable on the road between Orton Rigg (Orton Rigg) and B5307 Moorhouse (Moorhouse).
The following roads which were previously affected have now reopened:
- A69 Between Brampton & Warwick bridge
- Wigton to Aikton Road (near Moorhouse Mill)
- Blennerhasset Bridge (River Ellen)
- Woodhouses to Orton Rigg Road
- B5299 Dalston Road (Carlisle
- B5302 King Street and B5305 Station Road in Wigton
- A6 Carleton to M6 J42
- A595 Red Dial (near Wigton
- A595 Cardewlees to Newby Cross
- Kingmoor Road (Carlisle)
- Houghton Road (Houghton)
- Scotby Road (Scotby)
- A689 Milton to Hallbankgate near Brampton
