A MOUNTAIN rescue team had to be called to help a man who had slipped and suffered a lower leg injury near Braithwaite.
Keswick Mountain Rescue received the call from the North West Air Ambulance around 12.50pm yesterday to reports of a man with an injury on the path between the Coledale Inn and Stile End.
Teams took a Land Rover and were able to park next to the casualty where one of the paramedics treated what appeared to be a "particularly bad ankle break."
A spokesman for Keswick Mountain Rescue said: "Strong pain relief was provided and attempts were made to reduce the injury before the man was taken to Keswick Cottage Hospital to await a NWAS ambulance."
