A TEENAGE motorist has been banned from the road and told he could be jailed for what a judge called a “serious piece of dangerous driving”.
Matthew William Bright, 19, pleaded guilty to two offences when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court yesterday morning.
He admitted driving a Ford Fiesta dangerously at Skinburness Drive in Silloth on January 26 this year, and failing to provide his name and address to police on February 24.
Judge David Potter adjourned Bright’s case for the preparation of a probation service pre-sentence report which, his lawyer, Mrs Karen Tunnacliffe said, would assist in the sentencing exercise.
Bright, of Monkhill, near Carlisle, will be sentenced on October 22. He was bailed and given an interim driving ban, the length of which will be determined at his sentencing hearing.
Judge Potter told Bright: “All options, including immediate imprisonment, remain open.
“This was a serious piece of dangerous driving.”
