A Cumbrian IT firm has appointed new staff to help it keep up with demand.

David Allen IT Solutions, based in Dalston and Carlisle’s Kingstown Industrial Estate, has created the role of IT business manager for Colin Simons, who has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry.

He will strategically manage and develop the internal IT for the David Allen service areas and will also assist the David Allen IT Solutions directors with strategic input and consultancy.

Mr Simons worked for international charity GBA Ships, which latterly became a client of David Allen.

The company has also appointed Michael Ferguson and Kyle McHattie as IT apprentices, where they will study for their IT apprenticeship one day a week at Carlisle College.

Gary Martin, IT Solutions director, said: “It is fantastic to be once again give young people an

opportunity within our business, and having Kyle and Michael join our team as apprentices will bring a real benefit to our business, and to them as individuals.

“Colin is a fabulous asset to our business, and we really look forward to him helping drive our business forward and improve what is already an excellent offering to our clients.”

The company has also welcomed three new tax trainees and the accountancy department has welcomed two new apprentices.

David Allen IT Solutions is a finalist in Best Customer Service category in the in-Cumbria Business Awards 2019, which will be held on Thursday, November 14 at The Halston in Carlisle. The awards ceremony will be hosted by TV presenter and journalist Cathy Newman.
