Crews were called to rescue the girl from the tree
FIREFIGHTERS had to rescue a girl who was stuck up a tree in Carlisle.
Crews from Carlisle West fire station were sent out to help the 12-year-old after the report came in at about 8.45pm.
The girl had climbed up the tree in a park area near Brookside, Carlisle, to rescue a cat.
A spokesman from Carlisle West said: "She climbed up the tree after the cat, but then the cat jumped out and she was stuck.
"We used a short ladder to go up and help her down."
