A NUMBER of officers are set to bike more than 100 miles to raise funds for the Constabulary’s chosen charity.

Cumbria police officers will be joined by colleagues from the National Probation Service and Cumbria Health on Call in the 105-mile challenge for Jigsaw which will see 11 people bike across the county.

The challenge which takes place on Friday will start at 7am from Barrow Police Station ending at Durranhill Police Station.

The route will take them by the coast passing Workington Police Station on the way.

Superintendent Sarah Jackson, who will take part, said: “This is a huge challenge to undertake but one which we are all very much looking forward to.

“What will keep us going, as the physical pain sets in, is that this raises funds for such a worthy cause.

“Our officers and staff have donated so much of their own time to support Jigsaw which has been a fantastic and fulfilling experience.”

The challenge is one of three that some of the 11 are conducting as part of their fundraising efforts.
