The Egremont Crab Fair has a new Queen, and she's got just enough time to settle in for the wacky weekend ahead.

12-year-old Ellie Dixon, from Egremont, was crowned 2019's Crab Fair Queen, with Jasmine Bell, 11, being chosen as reserve Queen.

The coronation took place at the Egremont Catholic Club's selection disco on September 13 – just one week before the Crab Fair's fabulous festivities officially begin.

President of the Egremont Crab Fair committee, Steve Foster, said: "Thank you to everybody who took part [in the disco], and made it such an enjoyable event."

The Egremont Crab Fair will begin on Friday evening (September 20), with Dancing in the Street, headlined by X Factor winner Shayne Ward.
