An estate agent is celebrating becoming one of the few in the country to win a national award for the fourth year in a row.

Northwood Carlisle, in Crosby Street, has won the British Property Award for Carlisle.

The British Property Awards are assessed against 25 criteria by mystery shoppers and then awarded on a town by town basis.

In particular, the criteria focus on the customer service each agent provides.

Gordon Adamson, managing director of Northwood Carlisle, said: “In life you reap what you sow so if your process is good and your customer service is good you should get the right sales results and we are doing very well.”

The agency, which employs 10 people, was founded in 1997 and it is part of a national network of 87 offices.

“To win any year is a fantastic achievement against so much competition, however to win for the fourth consecutive year has blown us away and reward for the team’s s knowledge, skill, enthusiasm and commitment to truly go over and above,” said Gordon.

“We’ve had a fantastic year in terms of growth, especially on our property sales side of the business and this now tops it off.”

Robert McLean, from The British Property Awards, said: “Our award has been designed to remove any opportunity for bias or manipulation.

“If an agent has been attributed with one of our awards, it is simply down to the fantastic customer service levels that they have demonstrated across a prolonged period of time.

“Winning agents should be proud that their customer service levels provide a benchmark for their local, regional and national competition.”
