AN IRISH cafe in Carlisle will close its doors for the final time today.
Penylins Wee Irish Cafe, on Lowther Street, opened in 2017, serving traditional Irish fare.
It is run by Lynn Robinson, her daughter Emma and their family.
Emma said: “We, as a family would like to thank every single customer that has ever walked through our door, gave us reason to smile and enjoyed our food and craic.
“We had a fantastic few parties, often burnt the bacon but had the best laugh in doing so.
“We have customers that come in singing to us staff, and we have our regulars who tend to bring their own friends and family and enjoy it just as much.
“Unfortunately Carlisle is not a city for the small businesses, and we now are one that simply cannot compete anymore.
“We are open today, and will have offers and discounts and will be serving our alcohol as well as other drinks including hot drinks. So have a party with us, and give Lynn love and thanks for all she has offered to every single person she welcomed.”
