PEOPLE can try their hand at bell ringing today with an open day at Carlisle Cathedral.
The bell ringing team will be on hand from 10am to demonstrate the mini-bell frame.
The opportunity is part of Heritage Open Days.
The Prior’s Tower will open from 11am to 2pm giving people the chance to see the Tudor painted ceiling - which includes a mermaid, a snail-warrior and a pelican.
People can also get a great view of the Fratry building works which are well underway.
Entry is free.
Tomorrow, members of the public are invited to remember and commemorate at the annual Battle of Britain service.
Music will be sung by the Cathedral Boys’ Choir and Lay Clerks.
The service starts at 3pm and entry is free.
