Temporary traffic lights which were put in place on Warwick Road and expected to be in place till June have finally gone.
Motorists will be heaving a sigh of relief over the removal of the lights, which were deployed as part of a major project to refurbish pipes which went on for longer than expected.
Several weeks ago, United Utilities confirmed that work on the pipes, being revamped for the first time in nearly 100 years, had hit a snag.
A spokesman for the firm said last month that it was committed to completing all the required work on Warwick Road by the end of the year as planned.
“We do appreciate people bearing with us, rest assured we’re doing all we can to get out of the way as soon as possible,” he said.
