Jess Glynne is all set to bring a late flash of summer sunshine and warm holiday vibes to Cumbria this weekend.

The chart star is performing at Bitts Park in Carlisle tomorrow after postponing the show from last month.

She pulled out of her appearance just a week before the date after suffering the latest throat problem.

This summer she supported the Spice Girls on their UK stadium comeback tour dates, as well as appearing at several summer festivals and headlining her own huge outdoor shows.

But she paid a price for the heavy workload and the Londoner has had to cancel a number of gigs over the summer.

She withdrew from the Isle of Wight Festival at the last minute last month and also cancelled an appearance at the TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow.

It was discovered that she had suffered a vocal haemorrhage and was ordered to take a break by her doctor.

The singer said she had been “suffering on and off for weeks with anxiety about my voice.

“It wasn’t right. I wasn’t sounding my best and I felt there was something wrong.”

She said she was told she was “completely overdoing everything” having performed nearly 100 shows over the past six months.

She said she had been pushing through “at times when I know I’ve been tired and overstretched and I got to breaking point, my voice literally got to breaking point”.

She was forced to postpone her Bitts Park concert again under doctor’s orders.

But she rescheduled what she is calling ’the summer blow out party to end all parties’ and said: “As you know I’m recovering from some vocal issues and have been told I can only perform two shows in a row at this time.

“Sadly at some other shows that’s not been possible, but I’m hearing you, and I want you to be there for ‘the summer blow out party to end all parties’.”

Whatever the weather this weekend, the 29-year-old is aiming to get fans back in a holiday mood - especially with her hit Hold My Hand which has become the theme tune for Jet2 holiday TV ads.
