Police have arrested a man after reports he exposed himself close to a Carlisle school.

It happened just after 3.30pm on Monday close to Richard Rose Central Academy on Lismore Place.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: "It is reported that a man described as white, in his mid-twenties of medium build with short brown hair and a scruffy brown beard exposed himself to a woman.

"The man was wearing a blue sweatshirt and dark grey shorts at the time.

"We would like to speak to anybody who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed this man in the area.

"A 24-year-old man from Carlisle was arrested on suspicion of exposure and released under investigation."
