A MAN has been arrested for robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and assault after allegations he attempted to steal a woman's purse while in possession of a chain.
Police were called to the West Walls area of Carlisle at about 7.30pm on Monday.
Subsequently a man, aged 47, was arrested.
He was still in police custody last night.
