A TV appeal has been launched to trace a wanted Carlisle man for recall to prison.
Police say Stephen Dixon, 33, is believed to be in the Carlisle area.
Officers are conducting inquiries to locate him.
An appeal for any information on Dixon’s whereabouts was broadcast on the BBC’s Crimewatch Roadshow today (Monday).
Presenter Rav Wilding said: "He was jailed for five years for an attack in which the victim lost a finger.
"He was released on licence, but has failed to stick to the terms of his release and is now wanted back in prison."
Cumbria Police added that anyone found assisting Dixon may face criminal proceedings.
Anyone with any information should call Cumbria Police on 101 and ask to speak to an officer in the North Cumbria Crime and Safeguarding Team.
Alternatively details can be passed to Crimestoppers anonymously by calling 0800 555 111.
