PART of Warwick Road has now reopened to two-way traffic.

In August United Utilities said that part of Warwick Road in Carlisle could remain closed for another 11 weeks.

Work on a section of the road leading to Victoria Place started in March and were due to be completed in June, but in July engineers from the company confirmed the project was hit by delays.

Now, the section from Warwick Road to Lismore Place is open to two-way traffic.

A spokesperson from United Utilities said: "We have finished our work on Victoria Place so we have been able to remove these traffic lights.

"This is because we no longer need to access the water mains through the excavation that was open on Victoria Place."

Work is still being carried out on Warwick Road between Botcherby Bridge and Greystone Road and the traffic lights that were at the Beehive Pub have been moved to the junction on Thirlwell Avenue.

The turning to Greystone Road from Warwick Road has also been reopened although traffic is not permitted to turnout of Greystone Road onto Warwick Road.
