THE main aim of the close-knit team at Bellcare, a Home Care company in Cumbria, is to make a difference to the people that they support and care for.

They are always looking for ways to improve the service, and they try to see life through the eyes of the elderly and vulnerable in their care. In this way, they can appreciate what it can be like to live on your own, in a small village, where loneliness can be the main feature of your life.

It takes a special type of person to work for Bellcare. They work very hard to make people feel better, having a crack and a laugh when they can – but also providing a shoulder to cry on when things may be difficult. Going that extra mile is what it’s all about.

Bellcare also understands that their own staff need support and guidance, so that they can learn and contribute as part of the team. The company see themselves as a family – all working together towards a common purpose.

Deputy Manager, Debbie Ellwood, is a great example. She arranges loads of events, throughout the year, to raise funds for the Christmas Party which is held for the service-users. There are raffles, medium nights, sponsored events, and bed pushes, to name but a few.

Everyone is encouraged to join in, and, more often than not, even the most reluctant find that they are enjoying themselves.

One of Debbie’s recent successful events was a Hippy Walk, with lots of the Bellcare team dressed in Hippy clothes, collecting loose change as they walked around Workington. The fact that they ‘just happened’ to end up in Workington town, on Saturday night, having a drink and a dance along the way was purely coincidental!

It was well worth it, because they raised £350 for the Christmas Party in cash donations alone - so a very well deserved, great big ‘Thank You’ to Debbie and the team.

Bellcare are currently looking for people to come and join their family. If you would like a job that offers true satisfaction, where you will be well looked after and supported, Bellcare is the place to go.

They offer excellent terms and conditions, with all the support and guidance that you will need to be able to care for people in the best way possible.

It doesn’t matter if you are new to care, or have been working as a carer for years, Bellcare have a place for you. They are looking for people who are prepared to give the best that they can, and who also want to part of a great team.
