Police probe
Police have arrested a 41-year-old man, of no fixed address, in connection with an assault on Coniston Drive, Workington, today.
The incident, in which two people were injured, happened in the early hours of this morning.
A police spokesman said: "We are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."
Officers were called to a house in Coniston Drive just before 1am following a report of a serious assault by a man using bladed articles on two people.
A man and woman – aged 37 and 35 - suffered serious but not life threatening injuries. They were taken to the Cumberland Infirmary.
