A NINETY-year-old man is in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries after a vehicle he was driving collided with a tree.
The collision occurred at around 12.30am this morning after a silver VW Golf left the M6 Northbound between J36 and 37, near Preston Patrick, went off the road and collided with a tree.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident.
Officers say it is not believed that any other vehicles were involved in the collision.
The driver and lone occupant of the car was a 90-year-old man from Northern Ireland and suffered severe injuries.
Officers said he remains in hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.
