Trees surrounding gravestones have been torched by vandals at Carlisle Cemetery.
It happened at about 5.15pm yesterday at the cemetery, off Richardson Street.
It is believed the fire was started deliberately.
The Carlisle West fire crew were called to the scene.
They said: "Red Watch mobilised to reports of trees on fire at the cemetery off Richardson Street.
"On arrival we found four trees well alight in a remote area of the cemetery.
"We used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
"The crew was in attendance for an hour."
