Carlisle bus station has re-opened after debris fell from a building.

Emergency services cordoned off the bus station after large roof tiles crashed to the floor.

The tiles fell from the roof of an empty unit.

Police and Cumbria Fire and Rescue were at the station to help make the area safe.

Carlisle City Council were assessing the of the damage to the area and the damaged tiles are still cordoned off.

Restrictions were in place from Earls Lane to the entrance of the bus station on Londsdale Street.

A spokesman from Cumbria Police said: "A cordon has been put in place at Earls Lane and the entrance to the Carlisle bus station on Lonsdale Street which has now been closed due to roof tiles falling from a building in the area.

"No one has been injured."
