Police have confirmed that the victim of a fatal crash on the M6 near Penrith was a 62-year-old woman.
Two young children also needed hospital treatment following the collision, involving a car and a motorhome.
It happened on the southbound carriageway, between junctions 41 and 40, at about 11.50am on Saturday.
Cumbria Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
The 62-year-old woman, who has not yet been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The two children suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle.
Officers are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from around the time of the incident to call 101.
