Only one Cumbrian flood alert remains in place despite forecasters predicting a day of heavy rain in parts of the county.

The Environment Agency has lifted four flood warnings - an indication that flooding is expected - in the last 24 hours, including the one that was in place until late yesterday at Keswick Campsite.

Also removed were warnings for the rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster; the rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck; and the rivers Ehen, Calder, Irt and Esk.

The remaining flood alert - which means flooding is possible - covers the Upper River Derwent, Stonethwiate Beck, and Derwent Water.

The Environment Agency said that thundery showers are expected today but officials will continue to monitor the situation and update the Agency's website as needed.

The Met Office says that heavy rain is expected at times today in both the Carlisle and Keswick areas.

Rainfall towards Workington and the Solway coast is expected to be lighter.
